L1-L2 Infrastructure Support Engineer

Tupl is looking for a **Level 1–2 Kubernetes Support Engineer** to join our Infrastructure Operations team in the U.S. 

You’ll be part of a skilled and collaborative team supporting the infrastructure behind Tupl’s big data automation platform, used by major telecom operators worldwide. 

This is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience with modern monitoring, cloud, and automation tools while contributing to real customer projects. 
 
Tasks: 
You’ll help keep systems healthy, stable, and running efficiently by handling day-to-day operational tasks such as: 
 
1. Monitoring & Incident Response 
  • Respond to alerts related to our Kubernetes clusters or infrastructure incoming thru many sources. 
  • Review Grafana performance and utilisation dashboards to detect anomalies or performance degradations. 
 
2. Troubleshooting & Basic 
  • Resolution Restart or verify services when needed. 
  • Assist with user access, password resets, or connectivity issues. 
  • Follow runbooks to perform restarts or apply standard fixes. 
 
3. Ticket & Request Management 
  • Manage incidents and requests through Jira or Opsgenie. 
  • Handle simple provisioning or permission requests. 
 
4. Documentation & Reporting 
  • Record actions taken and resolution steps. 
  • Contribute to daily health reports and incident summaries. 
 
5. Escalation 
  • Identify when issues require escalation to L2/L3 engineers. 
  • Provide detailed context to ensure smooth handovers. 
 
6. Preventive Maintenance 
  • Perform routine checks on system usage, performance, and backups. 
  • Support patching, updates, and preventive reboots. 
 
7. Additional Exposure (depending on project) 
  • Monitor cloud workloads (AWS, Azure, or GCP). 
  • Support basic virtualization tasks (VMware, Proxmox). 
  • Respond to minor network or connectivity issues. 
 
8. Communication & Teamwork 
  • Provide clear updates during incidents and shift handovers. 
  • Collaborate effectively with global teams and customers.

- This position involves the possibility of working rotating shifts (morning/afternoon/night) since we provide 24x7 support. 
- If applicable, additional compensation is provided for rotation, along with additional time off. 
- Additional on-call may be required and compensated accordingly.

You’re a motivated, detail-oriented professional eager to develop a career in IT operations.

Minimum Requirements  
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience. 
  • 1 to 3 years of professional experience in infrastructure, support, or IT operations. 
  • Basic knowledge of Linux and/or Windows operating systems. 
  • Familiarity with scripting (Python, Bash, or PowerShell). 
  •  Fundamental networking understanding: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP. 
  • Willingness to follow structured procedures and contribute to documentation. 
  • Proactive mindset with a desire to learn and improve processes. 

Nice-to-Have (Any of the following are a plus!)  
Experience or familiarity with:  
  • Monitoring & Logging: Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, Alertmanager
  • Identity & Access: Keycloak
  • Storage & Backup: Ceph, MinIO, or backup tools
  • Load Balancing: Traefik, nginx, HAProxy
  • Databases: PostgreSQL, MongoDB
  • Big Data Tools: Hadoop ecosystem
